I’m Fern Lemus, founder of FL Recordings, pro drummer and heavy metal producer with over two decades of experience.
My studio is single handedly responsible for millions of song streams, youtube views, and my own career with the bands “Silence The Messenger”, "Lions At The Gate” & “Super Monster Party”.
If you’re in a deathcore band, I know what its like to make great music only to listen back to it and feel disappointed and almost embarrassed to share it because it doesn't sound like the bands you look up to.
Its doesn't sound pro, and it's frustrating to have your band be represented poorly.
You may have a little knowledge about the process or about mixing, but there's so much that goes into making something sound pro that you can't get unless you’ve done it successfully and you’ve done it a lot and I have.

Q. Whats the typical timeline for a single test mix?
I like to send the first test mix within 2-3 weeks of your scheduled start date.
Q. How long does it take to finalize a song once we’ve received our test mix?
Final master delivery depends on how long the revision process takes, so it can be a couple of days if no changes are needed or a couple of weeks if the process drags out due to factors like your band needing time to gather notes.
On average, a single usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks start to finish.
Q. Why shouldn’t I just do all this myself? What makes you unique?
you totally can, I started out the same way. The difference is I have twenty years of real world experience in playing, writing, recording, and producing this exact genre. Your only limiting factor is your own skill set. it’s important to recognize your own limitations and when you should reach out to a professional.
Q. What sort of response time can we expect?
I like to reply to all emails within 24hrs, excluding off days.
Q. Who owns the rights to the music?
You do! I don’t ask for any writing or publishing rights unless I’m performing on your song. In those cases I only ask for a small percentage.
